Hmm. I don't know beans about its authenticity, but the concept is one of the better rumours so far. You can use the prophecy stunt several times in the film, and not have it only show up fleetingly at the end. Also, it would allow some neat special effects. It explains the non-nazi villain, too: Poor sap stumbles across the eye, uses its powers for lotteries and robberies and whatnot, and Indy gets wrapped up in it. Of course, it might become a bit superheroey, but so were the Nazi fistfights. Besides, there's plenty of thoughtful issues about a man knowing his own destiny.
The backdrop sounds about right, too, but since when were there Lions in Iraq? Circus animals, I guess.
My opinion? Just maybe. Doesn't fit the pattern, but it fits the theme, and can be easily revised. At any rate, it's great coffee/forum talk.
