Got my Federation!

Yesterday the delivery truck snuck the package in my front door when I wasn't looking. Thank goodness I'm off on Thursdays!

It needed a very slight size adjustment, so onto the lampshade it went for a bit, worked great BTW. Wore it a good chunk of the day to help break it in some(who wouldn't!).

Today I decided to bite the bullet and just lop off the edge some and make the dimensional cut. Kitchen shears work great for that and because I'm also refinishing some furniture, I grabbed me a piece of 220 grit and blended to perfection.

I picked up some black grograin at the fabric store today just to check it out and the mid brown hat does look better with the darker ribbon.

Overall, I think the Federation is a nice hat. A little stiff at first but once it breaks in some, I'm sure it will be fine.
Much better feel to it then say the Temple, and half the cost.
