Fan fiction questions

I'm planning on posting some Indy fan fiction here very soon, but I have a few questions about this to ask:

I've noticed that you can use images in posts, and some of the stories contain title images (i.e. 'Indiana Jones and the...'). Is this done by using the tag? Also, is it illegal to use the actual Indy logo for these images? (most of the title images seem to use the 'Adventure' font, which looks slightly but noticeably different)
