I guess another thing to keep in mind is what was the thought process regarding archeology in the early part of this century. We currently consider a lot of the projects that were done a form of grave robbing, but at that time anything done in the name of science was absolutely accepted, regardless of the actual reasons the projects were being done. King Tut's tomb was dug simply, at first, for financial gain and the possible treasures it may contain. It was done to the point of dumping all the waste, or muck, into a nearby hole that recently was discovered to be the entrance of KV 5, largest tomb system to be discovered to date. Regards.
