Okay, I just don't see a black hatband/ribbon!

I think Luger's Fedora page has it right when it states that the hatband is a dark brown, darker than the hat. I know some forum members have said the Petersham ribbon is black (Groo?) but I can't understand this. In almost every scene, the hatband looks dark brown to me! Does the Herbert Johnson version come with a black or dark brown (Petersham) ribbon? Just trying to get a friendly debate going...and clarify something I've been wondering about.
