Back of fedora brim sloped upwards or downwards?

I've had an Indiana Jones fedora for several years now, but I have a question:

The entire brim of the hat is sloped upwards when stored in its box, but when worn the front of the brim is sloped downwards (simply by pulling the front of the brim down).

Should the back of the brim remain sloped upwards, or should it also be sloped downwards (I've always thought that the back of the brim remains upwards, but I'm hearing some things to the contrary)?
