: : THis spring I am purchasing a new jeep wrangler, and have decided to take a few weeks to travel across the United States. Anybody have any suggestions for things to see or do? I need to start planning now as this will be my greatest adventure....Thanks...

: Dr Hose- you have just described my dream! (Strange how so many people on this forum think alike...) I dearly want to get a Wrangler or Land Rover Defender myself and do the same!

: I highly recommend the Colorado Plateau/Four Corners region as the most beautiful I've seen so far. Right around the intersection of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico in "Red Rock Country" there is an unbelievable amount of stuff to see. Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion NP, Canyonlands, and you can visit Arches NP like Indy! A must...take some time to camp out an go rafting through the Canyonlands!

: Good Luck!

And go to Pikes Peak! I was there once about 5 years ago, in February. There was a small store, all by itself, at about 11,000 feet, and run by a man named Archie. We didn't get much further. The rangers stopped us because it began to snow. I bought some "fool's gold" and other tourist stuff. You can't begin to discribe the view from his windows. We drove north after that, and saw huge, flat plains, with patches of snow, and small heards of buffalo wandering across them. We drove on to Leadville. They had blocked off Main Street and were having snow mobile races on it. You have to go to Colorado!
