I've never cared much for the Toimb Raider franchise eversince TR3. I don't know about some, but I think Lara Croft is waaay too over-rated. Granted Tomb Raider was a leap (pun intended) in the platform genre, but exactly how much of the "same-old-same-old" type can we take? Look the graphics of TR3! Except for a beefing up of silicon on some strategic location of Lara's physique, I don't think the graphics were a vast improvement over the others (okay, so maybe there's the lighting and water transparency, but did anyone really take notice?). Gameplay? Lara had some new moves, yes, but that's about it. Basically, you find something, use for something and proceed. Then Repeat, lather and rinse. The TR-style platformer needs some new innovations, that's clear. Let's just hope The Infernal Machine breaks the old mold.
That's just the two cents of a veteran gamer.

Till then.
