: Just finished reading the new Harrison Ford bio called Harrison Ford: Imperfect Hero. The biographer dug this up while investingating the scriptwriting phase of Indy 4 begun oh...5 years ago.

: From p. 302
: "...the laughter was muted back at Paramount, however. Hopes of having Indiana Jones back on the road later in the year were dashed when the second draft of the new script was returned to writer Jeb Stuart for more work. The storyline of Indiana Jones and the Lost Continent, conceived originally by George Lucas, seemed promising enough. Indiana stumbles across the Lost World of Atlantis just as early nuclear tests are about to destroy it forever."

: Just FYI.

So THAT was Lucas' "great idea" that he said was the reason he wanted to do an Indy 4! Curious that he's using Atlantis when his own LucasArts made a story about it for their Indy computer game. Even so, Atlantis is one of the best ideas for an Indy movie, and it sounds like the movie would have been (will be?) much different from the game, which is cool. I'll bet that if we ever do see Indy 4, it will still be Lucas' original idea.
