: Having just finished Rocky II on DVD, I'm reminded of the few times I remember not having an initial interest in watching a film as a kid:

: Rocky II- Five minutes into it, and I was a boxing fan for life.

: Karate Kid- Let's not talk about the injuries this film prompted.

: Raiders of the Lost Ark- Almost 20 years later, and I'm still annoying to be around when it's on!

:
: The problem, of course, was that I always wanted to watch either Star Wars or The Wizard of Oz, which, speaking of the latter, is excellent of DVD. The home movie footage of Judy Garland alone is worth the price of admission. You know, I hear they had to bind her breasts up for the role...but that is another knee-trembler altogether!!

: "I can't beat him. But that don't bother me. All I want to do is go the distance." -Rocky I

Oh, man... Yes, I can relate to you on this.

Rocky II was a big one for me. I couldn't sleep one noght and caught it just begining on HBO. The next day I had to go out and buy it.

Raiders was another. My buddies had to talk me into going to see it the night it opened. I've been hooked for almost 20 years!

There are a slew of Humphrey Bogart movies that got their hooks into me as well - The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, Casablance, We're No Angels, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, .....

What can I say - I'm a movie nut.

Cheers!
