Temple of Doom does take place before Raiders. For your proof, all that you
have to do is watch the first 5 minutes of both movies. Raiders starts with
the subtitle "South America, 1936" and Temple of Doom starts with the title
"Shanghai, 1935". Whether or not they did this on purpose, I don't know.
You can also notice that Indy's physique is a lot better in Temple and I
do know that they did this on purpose to make Indy look a little younger. Makes you wonder
just how much aging a guy can go through in one year. What I would not like to see is this
series turning into another James Bond-type of series, or to let some new guy ruin it like the last
two Batman movies.
