Indy Knows how to fly a plane?

Is it me or did anyone else notice that the Young Indy episode Attack of the Hawkmen is completely contradicting the Movies . In the episode Indy is a pilot and such a good one he shoots down the Red Baron. Now last time I checked Indy can not fly a plane at all I mean we all recall the scene in The Temple of Doom where Willy asks Indy if he can fly the crashing plane and he remarks" No...Do you I mean how hard can it be" and even in The last Crusade he does not know how to land it. So you see Attack of the Hawkmen should not be considred part of the Indy Time line.
