Bob, That is great news. If you can post a picture of it. I would be interested in seeing it. Can you tell me anything more about it? It can be tough trying to make a whip with out knowing how they are supposed to act. You should be OK though, as long as you follow the instructions, have a good basic design and make sure it has a good solid construction. If your unsure about how it handles, perhaps your Deacon could try it out since he has some experience with whip cracking.
I will have to check out the Denis Rush book. I have seen it before, but passed it up. You might want to check out David Morganís Book, Whips and Whip Making. Its a little more complicated, but once you have some braiding experience the techniques will make more sense, and it is packed with information. If you have any questions though, let us know.
