Wested thoughts and questions

I was wondering how deep are the the side flap fold things? My Guide Gear jacket's side flap folds are about an inch deep. Its sort of anoying when you move the arms and the fold gets expanded out and you can see that they arent deep. As for Wested's two options of linings, wich is a better choice? The satin looks great with its sheen etc, but if you get a small tear or hole, that type of material frays and unravels. The coton looks alright, but it doesnt grab attention like the satin. I was told it is like a brown t-shirt. I have cut t-shirts with scisors for making a costume in a 5th grade play and even though the edges are not stitched, it wont fray or unravel. In fact, they even role up on their own.
