Flightsuits leathers

Forgive me if I missed this before. I'm trying to figure out the benefit of veg or chrome goat as opposed to lamb. Is it durability, personal preference, or authenticity. I thought the original jackets were made of lamb and that the purpose of the Flightsuits jacket was originality so I'm afraid I've become a bit confused.
