Lamb was original, but was used for purposes of movie making, i.e. light and comfortable for the actors. They did not need to last very long. As far as look, the FS goat skins look as good as lambskin - IMHO. The veg vs chrome is personal preference - some functionality issues as well. Sorry for the short post.
