Even if the hat is tapered

when it's not on your head, if the hole in the hat were significantly rounder than the oval of your head, when you put it on it would be streched lengthwise. At the sides where the crown meets the brim, these two areas would move toward each other while the crown remains unchanged for the most part, and this would remove taper. If PB can make a rounder holed hat than the one you got, you might get a taper free hat when you put it on.-This strecthing would result in a more radicaly tweeked brim, though.
