Another ribbon message for Tony...

I saw in your post below where you postulated that a TOD / LC hat should take Petersham ribbon, while a Raiders hat should have millinery grosgrain. I dunno where you got this info, but it's news to me. From what I've read, the actual ribbon used in Raiders was something similar to Petersham, but no one's sure exactly what.

My hat had a regular grosgrain ribbon that the hatmaker put on, and I gotta say I like the Petersham a lot better. It's stiffer, so it's easier to shape it into that distinctive bow with the folds that go from the four corners to the center of the bow (like an 'X'). The grosgrain ribbon I had was too floppy to do that.

And so, in closing, and to sum up, Petersham is better because it looks more accurate and it's easier to work with.

Boy, I need to get a life, don't I?
