Alden return policy?

Anyone ever return a pair of Aldens through the mail? Are they the type of company that will pay shipping if to exchange for the wrong size? After all, how are you to know if they fit until they arrive at your door? Also, if I order a wider size, does anyone know if just the base of the shoe is wider or do you get more room on the top as well? Thanks in advance for your reply <:) AGENT5
