My impressions.

These are my impressions (so take them with a grain of salt) after looking at the pics. The first thing I notice is that Harry's hat is on his head, the PB is elevated, and the Keppler is flat. It's hard to judge just based on these. The next thing I notice is that the PB is way too tall for my tastes. I tried fiddling with mine last night and the more I tried to give it the "Raiders" bash, the worse looking it got. The bash it came with is Raider-esque, but it was also bashed to suit the felt stock. I had to return it to it's original shape as to not have it look ridicules. It is probably possible to get a PB with a shorter crown, but all of the ones I have seen have a crown that is too tall. If you can complain about the Keppler hat, it would be that the back of the hat might not be suited for the "Cairo" look that many fans are after. Most "Cairo" fans will probably go with or stay with the PB. Unfortunately, with the PB you get the square look, but the front pinch is all wrong in my book. The Keppler is perfect for the Raven bar or south American Jungle look, I can say without reservation. I know many of you guys might be upset with me, or think I'm out of my mind after this post. My intention was just to give you guys a few things you might not have thought about. Cheers

: I was working on updating the fedora FAQ, and did some tinkering with comparing the crown shapes of the Keppler and PB. There are some slight differences. The top pic is from MK's post measuring the crown height. The bottom is a bad pic of my PB, but it was the only side shot I had. The middle is a cropped still from the Cairo bar scene with Belloq. Just thought I'd share with the class...
