I am a BIG proponent of bashing a hat yourself. I did have Joe do mine, but after a nasty downpour at Disneyland, I basically popped the bash and let her dry out. Once dry I scotch guarded it (darkened it just a bit, which I like) and then bashed it cold without any steam. With subsequent wear in the hot dirty dusty climate down here, the hat gets more and more beautiful over time. Hey, they are made for wearing!
