Makes one wonder if this isn't the answer to why we see the real difference discussed regarding the appearance of the hat worn in the Cairo scenes and the rest of the movie. The Australian base may have been the Cairo scenes hat, and the HJ versions covered all the rest? Something to mull over. Regards. Michaelson

: : Both HJ and Deborah Nadoolman described the hat as an "Australian Fedora". Also, DM once told me the Akubra Squatter was used as inspiration for the original hat.

: ...as it was my understanding that the original HJ was of Brazilian origin. A Brazilian made Australian hat, sold by a high end British retailer? It just gets curiouser and curiouser! I had always assumed that this particular Brazilian open crown hat, had been blocked with an old timey block, not particularly availible these days. When HJ changed suppliers, for what ever reason, they lost this block in their Poets. The hats that followed seem to have the LC block, at least some of them. All of this is very interesting to folks like me. I love it! Regards, Fedora
