: : : Hey, I really like alot of the Indiana Jones-ish logos being made. Does anyone know how to make them in Adobe Photoshop? I am very fluent with the program, as I have taken many classes on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
: : : Thanks much

: : If you mean the "Indiana Jones" name colored in the colored in the
: : orange to white design, you'll first need the Indiana Jones font. I'm
: : not sure where it's available on the net, but you could probably find
: : it using a search engine. Once you have the font, use the text tool
: : in Photoshop to enter the name. Make sure the "preserve transparency"
: : box is checked for the layer in your layers window. Choose your first
: : color and, using a feathered brush, paint the first color across the
: : name. Repeat with transitional colors until you have the desired look.
: : A little practice might be necessary to get the band width of color
: : just the right size. Hope this helps.

: Wouldn't it be easier to get the "transitional" look using Photoshop's Gradient tool? Once you choose your starting and ending colors, you can use a linear gradient and adjust the midpoint to your liking.

: Select the text, then shrink the selection so only the letterforms are selected. Then use the Gradient tool to apply the gradient.

Hi Zippy,

You could use the gradient tool as you describe, I just found it fun to
draw the color transition free-hand :-).
