Hmm, in some points you are right. But about the books, i found them a bit lacking. There was just too much luck for Indy in it. Not that he doesn't deserve it but it makes the whole a bit unrealistic (or is that an understatement for Indiana Jones?).
And for the simple fact that Indy just has too much adventures in the book. It just doesn't feel special anymore
