Alden boot care

Received an interesting email recently from an Alden's representative regarding the 405 care and feeding and thought I'd pass it along. If you're wanting to keep the original color, always use a leather cream instead of a polish in the same color. The cream will nourish the leather and keep it from cracking. If you're wanting it to achieve a weathered and more bleached out appearance, use the neutral cream instead. This will "feed" the leather and keep it from cracking, but will allow the color to fade to a weathered look. This beats the heck out of dragging your $200 Aldens behind a truck to achieve the "look". As I said above, this came directly from Aldens. Regards. Michaelson
