When I decided to go with the horsehide, they gave me the same caveat - but tempered with "until you break it in". I've seen some older horsehide jackets - they age very nicely, but it does take time. I had the pleasure to be able to examine Lee Keplers horsehide Indy jacket he had made several years ago, and it had the drape you get very quickly with lamb.

I've been working on the fairly good sized sample FS gave me a few weeks ago. I have been just abusing the hell out of this piece of leather, and I have to say this stuff is as tough as the hype! Anyway, after a few days it did "relax" and developed a nice drape to it. To break in a whole jacket will take some time. It's going to take some work, but the kangaroo US Wings is about the same.

Maybe one in lamb and one in horse? Stop me! Stop me!
