The Arab was passing by in the cut scene when he noticed the stone sliding out of its place, causing him to faint from shock.

The shooting of the swordsman was not in the script originally. The script called for a three-page whip/sword duel, proven by the deleted scenes included in "The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark".
