Sources before the end of the 12th century describe the grail as a generic dish, a plate, the kind which was commonly used for serving meals. Only in the Arthurian legends, the grail became that mysterious object we all have heard of today: The cup from which Christ drank at the last supper, the one used by Joseph of Arimathea for collecting Jesus's blood. Does anybody here know anything more about the grail?

I also wonder about the grail knight, as portrayed in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. He was supposed to be one of four brothers who guarded the grail? Who entrusted those four knights with the grail? Joseph of Aramathea? This all seems very sketchy. Maybe someone could shed light on this topic.

Cheers! Crusader
